Aldingham Unit

Aldingham Unit has developed into a service which can provide both physical and mental health nursing support.

The unit is extremely experienced in providing complex nursing care and has developed skills in caring for clients with dementia. In order to ensure that clients displaying both needs receive appropriate care, support and treatment; we have experienced mental health nurses who assesses, plans, implement and evaluate the mental health needs of each client and registered general nurses on duty to ensure the nursing care needs are also met. Risedale Estates Limited train, in conjunction with the University of Cumbria, Assistant Practitioners and with the Open University Registered Nurses.

We have introduced Assistant Practitioners into every shift to support the role of the Registered Nurses. Several of these practitioners are undertaking a mental health pathway.
